This Privacy Policy provides information about the ways in which Web Depot Internet Solutions collects, stores, shares or keeps personal information provided by our customers. Your privacy is very important and we take our role very seriously. We appreciate your trust and we will handle any information about you carefully and sensitively. By using web hosting services provided by Web Depot Internet Solutions, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. You can login to your Client Area to view and update your personal information.

“Personal Data”

This is data that identifies you or can be used to identify or contact you and may include your name, address, email address, telephone number etc. Such information is only collected from you if you voluntarily submit it to us via this website, our Social Media platforms or during the order process.

We use the information that you provide for such purposes as responding to your requests, providing our services (e.g., domain name registration, DNS hosting, hosting, email forwarding), and communicating with you.

If you provide us with personal data about a third-party (e.g. when registering a domain on their behalf), you warrant that you have obtained the express consent from the third-party for the disclosure and use of their personal data

“Non-Personal Data”

Like most websites, we gather statistical and other analytical information collected on an aggregate basis of all visitors to our website. This Non-Personal Data comprises information that cannot be used to identify or contact you, such as demographic information regarding, for example, user IP addresses, browser types and other anonymous statistical data involving the use of our website.

We need your personal data in order to provide you with the services we offer, to provide technical support and to process payments. We also require it to detect incorrect order details, fraud prevention and to facilitate access for users on our website.

In order to process and validate some domain registrations there may be a requirement to collect additional personal information as part of the application process. This includes utility bills, CRO information etc.

We do not and will never sell your personal data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We may share your personal information with trusted third parties for the purposes of operating our business and registering some products and services we re-sell (Hosting, SSL Certificates and Domain Registrations). These third parties do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information that you provide to Web Depot Internet Solutions for any secondary purposes. We store your data and information associated with your hosting plans on secure servers provided by third party service providers.

In order to register a domain name you may be requested, depending on the domain registry requirements, to supply personal information such as name, address, telephone number, email, ID and utility bill. Under the GDPR, we are a “processor” of this personal data as we pass this on to the domain registrar/registry (the “controller) at your instruction. Depending on the top level domain you require the domain registry may be outside of the EU/EEA.

Currently some personal data is made available on the public WHOIS database as this is a contractual requirement of the governing body ICANN. This requirement is being reviewed by the EU Commission. Most European country code registries including the IEDR (.ie registry) have phased out the publishing of personal WHOIS data. Certain country code domain registries outside of the EU will still publish WHOIS data as this is often mandatory if you require the domain name. Each domain registry has its own Domain Registration and Privacy Policies which we advise you to read.

Web Depot Internet Solutions will process (collect, store and use) the information you provide in a manner compatible with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up to date, and not keep it for longer than is necessary. We are required to retain information in accordance with the law, such as information needed for income tax and audit purposes. How long certain kinds of personal data should be kept may also be governed by specific business-sector requirements and agreed practices. Personal data may be held in addition to these periods depending on individual business needs.
